Do i need to wash my face with soap as well as washing with a blackhead scrub?

Using soap on your face will dry it out and leave behind binders and residue that will cause more damage to your skin. Find a good facial cleanser that you can use daily and that won't dry out your skin. Using any scrub will essentially do what a ';blackhead'; scrub does; buff away dead skin and grime that builds up under your skin and causes black/whiteheads and acne. Using an exfoliating scrub and a daily face wash is a great addition to your skin routine though! Don't forget to find a good moisturizer too, an oil-free one is always best.Do i need to wash my face with soap as well as washing with a blackhead scrub?
Winton

Soap is not made for the face. What it will do is super dry out your skin and cause the skin to over produce more oil. So you'll end up with super dry flaky, itchy skin with blotches of acne. Essentially a ';pizza face';.

That's what happened to me yrs ago, before I wised up and stopped using soap or acne cleansers to clean my face.

I recommend what I use; Kepaya (papaya based) cleanser. It cleans your face without overdrying it. Leaves it clean to the touch.

If interested Google Coonobabe go to their cleanser section.Do i need to wash my face with soap as well as washing with a blackhead scrub?
nahh just wet your face with warm water then use the blackhead scrub, scrub most at the places with the most blackheads because if you scrub to hard every where else it will dry out your skin. If you have oily skin use non oil moisturiser. [=
Just use blackhead scrub and one of those rough kitchen sponges. Not a brillo pad, just a rough kitchen sponge. It works. Acne free for 2 years now with that nice household recipe
You wash your face with soap?! Blasphemy! Soap drys out your skin gets rid of all the good stuff in your skin like oils. Use a good facial wash.
No, use one or the other otherwise you'll be over cleansing and you'll strip your skin of it's natural oils.
nope - i think that would probs just dry out your skin :)

Is there any special cure to acne & blackhead problems?

First Q is how old are u and of course male or female and which nationality u have?

-The acne treatment depends on what kind of acne u have...we have many differen treatment for therm...

-First Step is avoid sun shine...u can use some protection cream which has the SPF over than 25%...then if u are a smoker have to decrease the numver of them....decrease the fat food u take....drink enough water (more than 2 lits a day)....wash ur face with no bacter soap(at least twice a day)...if u are a girl dont use bad brand of make up stuff and wash ur make up as soon as possible(even if u use removal cream ).....if u start any mild sport like areobic or even jogging it will make ur skin better....take good nutrition and vegetable....

-secound we have some locolize solution ...they are antibactrial like erythromycin 1% and ....u can use them once every 2 nights on ur acnes(avoid 2 cm around ur eyes and 2 cm around ur mouth including ur nasolabial lines)....

-third u can use systemic antibiotics like tetracyclin or doxi by the order of ur G.P or dermatologist....

-if non of them work or u have cystic acne with scar u have to use a drug calls Actane its full of Vit A , it has his own order and u just can have it by a dermatolog ...

-we have some other treatments like Microdermabration(its usefull for black spots),pilling(deep and superficial) for make the acne and the scar of them goes....

its better if u visit a dermatologist.

Good LuckIs there any special cure to acne %26amp; blackhead problems?
oxy or proactive : )Is there any special cure to acne %26amp; blackhead problems?
    I don't think so
The best cure it to eat helathy. If I eat a ton of chocolate, or have a mcdonald's burger, a zit pops up the next day. Cheapest way to get rid of them, White toothpaste applied on them at night. The blue gel toothpaste dosn't work as well.

Boire Blackhead strips aren't working for me?

I have lots of blackheads on my nose %26amp; I bought the strips hoping they'd remove them, but when i take it off nothings come out onto the strip? I don't know what I'm doing wrong? If anyone has any advice on what I could use to get rid of blackheads whether its homemade recipies or cheap products from the drug store that would be great! :)Boire Blackhead strips aren't working for me?
i have them too and they weren't working for me either, but it turned out i wasn't making my nose wet enough so they weren't sticking. throw water on your nose so it's dripping off then put the strip on really fast. it works.Boire Blackhead strips aren't working for me?
Try using a scrub for where ever you had blackheads. You really have to rip off the strip though, but I've tried those too and they weren't the best. Clean %26amp; Clear has a new ';blackhead eraser'; cleanser, it looks really cool, maybe you should look into it!
you have to really get your nose wet

leave them on for 20 minutes (5 min more then they reccommend i think)

    and them rip them off

it won't rip off all your blackheads at once but if you look really closey you'll see little things it ripped out.
Go set a facial. They are nice and relaxing and help clear your skin

If you have mostly blackheads (noninflamed acne) I give my noninflamed acne clients a combination of glycolic, vitamin a proprionate or mandelic serums and benzoyl peroxide. I also have them use a scrub to wash their face with. You also have to know how to use these products - when to strengthen your homecare when your skin adapts to the routine. Noninflamed acne can be really tricky if you don't know what you are doing.

Do Clean and Clear's Blackhead Clearing Pads really work?

If not, which products work best at taking out blackheads?Do Clean and Clear's Blackhead Clearing Pads really work?
If you have oily skin (like me) I'll share what works for me.

I use Avon's Clearskin cleansing pads with 2% salicylic acid. A few of my girlfriends also swear by these.

I tried the blackhead clearing strips and they didn't work for me. They seemed to pull a little out of my pores, but the blackheads stayed put. Also, one time I left a strip on too long and it pulled off a tiny bit of skin with it! OUCH!

Last, but not least, when I'm absolutely desperate I'll use Retinol (retin-A). It seriously dries skin, but also clears everything!Do Clean and Clear's Blackhead Clearing Pads really work?
no they dont work i recommend you to ask your doctor so she can give you something for your skin type...of the counter products dont really work...
No, they really don't work that well and they sting and dry out my skin really bad. For blackheads I use Biore pore clearing strips (they're amazing!) and for my skin I use a set of three things (clenaser, toner and repair lotion) by AcneFree and I highly recommend it!
the pads don't do it for me. i do use biore ultra clean pore strips for mine and they work wonders. ponds makes them too and i think a few other brands. i've used about 3 different ones and they all work great. good luck, i hate blackheads they're the worst.

  • Why did I have a blackhead/zit ';down there';?

it was gross, I noticed it in the shower...so I popped it (it was like any other) but is it OK for it to be down there? its sorta sore where I popped it (but thats mostly normal). Why did I have a blackhead/zit ';down there';?
Normal. They don't descriminate... if you have skin there you'll get zits there. Why did I have a blackhead/zit ';down there';?
Yes it's normal, well ';down there'; is usually dark, damp %26amp; warm a great place for bacteria to feed and form but your lucky if would have gotten infected, it could have become and abscess in which a surgeon would have had to cut it open and drain then you would have been put on antibiotics for a couple of weeks which could possibly give you a yeast infection (yes you can get them if your male) down there AND in your throat.
Yeah, boss, no worries... If you have pores there (e.g. anywhere you have skin), you can get white/black heads... Some areas are more prone to acne than others just because the body is more inclined to produce oils and combat the infection present; but literally any pore can get clogged and react in a negative way... Try to keep it dry and use a mild treatment like tea tree oil to speed things along...

What do u think if extraction for the whitehead or blackhead?? is it good way to remove it?

You must use a strong exfoliant scrub with warm water for about 5 minutes. Scrub until your skin is pinky-red. Then gently squeeze out the blackhead(s).

Then saturate a cotton ball with witch hazel and wipe the area immediately. What do u think if extraction for the whitehead or blackhead?? is it good way to remove it?
It depends on how you do it. The best way is to go and have an aesthetician do the extractions for you during a facial or something. If you can't afford that then the safest way to make sure you don't hurt your skin would be to put your index fingers next to it like you're going to push them together but instead, push down on your skin and press them apart. Sort of like you're pulling the skin away from the blemishWhat do u think if extraction for the whitehead or blackhead?? is it good way to remove it?
Blackhead: if you push, and nothing comes out, leave it alone. It is not ready yet.

Whitehead: put a hot washcloth on it, and lightly scrub it off.

Cleans hands before and wash face right after. Never use your nails or squeeze too hard, you could cause scarring.

When you remove a blackhead, will it leave a hole??

not that you can see. its pretty small, but thats called the pore. its not really a hole, but you could put it that way. When you remove a blackhead, will it leave a hole??
    uhhh......

    yea.............

    but the holes........

are real small...........When you remove a blackhead, will it leave a hole??
yes, i have a lot of holes on my nose lol.
yes it is called a pore but that really depends on how long you let it sit on your face because it can leave a good sized opening in the pore itself..So take care of it as soon as possible to prevent that..
Yes, that's a pore. You can gently exfoliate your face with warm water and a face scrub and then splash your face with COLD water to close your pore and make the ';holes'; less visible.

I had this deep blackhead right on the tip of my nose and i popped it and i have a brown/red color breakage?

right on my nose! i know i shouldn't have popped it because it wasn't ready but it was so obvious and embarassing but now it's worse because everyone can see it! is this going to be permanent or will it go away soon?! or is there anyway i can help it go away or cover it up well? thanksss!! i know im an idiotttttI had this deep blackhead right on the tip of my nose and i popped it and i have a brown/red color breakage?
Cover it up with concealer and foundation, and when you're not going out leave makeup off and keep cleansing your face and using spot and blackhead treatments.

thanksWhat's a good moisturizer for the face and blackhead product?
st ives apricot scrubWhat's a good moisturizer for the face and blackhead product?
right after you take a shower, keep your face wet and go straight to the sink. Take Philosophy's Purity Face Wash and I swear it will do wonders for you. I had results within the first two to three days! It was that good!
I work at a medical spa, and the best facial products are Neostrata, by Neoceuticals, they have an antibacterial face wash, which helps with acne and black heads. They also have a moiturizer i think, or if not, M.D. Forte has an amazing moisturizer, you can get these at any medical spas.
I like the Biore nose strips for black heads. They seem to really cling on to the black heads and remove them well. As far as moisturizer goes, it all depends on what kind of skin you have and what kind of budget you have. If you have oily skin, you really only need a very light moisturizer, something that is oil free. I like Almay for an inexpensive product. ROC makes a good moisturirzer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, also. If you have dry skin, you should probably find a product that has retinols in it. One that has alpha and beta hydroxies.
    Avon Anew line
well iuse the clinique three step face cleanser it gets rid of the blackheads and includes a moisterizer! i luv it!
mmm dont know but good question . i look forward to the other answers
i like the clean and clear oxygenating moisturizer with spf 15. its really light too.

What is the best thing to avoid blackhead from my face?

    (m)

    1. Cleanliness is important, so keep all blackheads clean. Use an unperfumed cleanser twice a day to wash the effected areas. Don't use strong soaps -- your skin needs a certain amount of oils to function properly.

    2. Most over the counter treatments for blackheads contain benzoyl peroxide, which is an antibacterial agent. You can use benzoyl peroxide on your skin (sparingly to begin with) to treat your acne. It will dry out the skin and a surface layer of dead skin will soon be shed. This will make it more difficult for pores to become blocked, which will discourage future infection.

    3. Finally, don't believe that fatty foods cause blackheads, They don't. Chocolate is not a cause either. And dirt has nothing whatsoever to do with the formation of blackheads, so don't scrub your skin vigorously; it will only make things worse. So, ';how do I get rid of blackheads?'; you may ask. You can, but it's better to take measures to prevent them in the first place. What is the best thing to avoid blackhead from my face?

Blackheads r formed from the dirt n oil content in pores.. So u have to keep ur face clean..Its best recommended to use Artistry's Cleanser, toner n moisturiser..

Cleanser: It removes all the dirt n oily contents from the pores of face skin. It makes your skin look fair n clear.

Toner: It helps in tightening of the pores so that it prevents enlarging of pores in turn reduces formation of lines. It makes you look younger.

Moisturiser: Your skin should always contain some amount of water content which gets dried up when exposed to sun. Moisturiser provides the required water content so that you look fresh through the day.

I am an Amway distributor in Bangalore..If anybody is interested in buying Artistry products mail me. Free home delivery inside Bangalore.

Wash your face morning ang night and use facial scrub once a day...the best would be before you go to sleep so the effect would realy work til morning.... and oh, use Olay-it really works
keep it clean. Wash with suitable soap at least twice a day (esp before going to bed) n scrub with a towel. Remove all make up before going to bed. - use a deep pore cleanser- mebbe raw milk and honey-frequently and use peel off face masks that suit your skin.

Black heads are nothing but dirt collected which enters the pores of your skin, takes root.... So keep your skin clean
Sweat! Find the time to excercise for 20 - 30 minutes a day at a rate that has you sweating. After you are finished use an extremely gentle cleanser with warm water and rinse by splashing with warm water then gently removing excess water and residual cleanser with a soft cloth. Finally splash face with cool to cold water to tighten pores. It is important to cleanse as soon as possible after your workout. The sweat naturally pushes impurities from the pores as well as increasing blood circulation to the capillaries in the face which will aid in keeping skin healthy and building new fresh skin cells. This regimine not only works better than any cleansers, scrubs and medications it also helps to save money on all those items. Facial scrubs should be used no more than every 2 weeks and moisterizers only on areas that tend to be excessively dry. Eye creams are always useful, however,as the delicate eye area has no oil glands. Over using exfoliants and facial scrubs will only dry your skin causing it to naturally produce more oils to compensate. Also, check your diet. I found that when I increased my dairy intake, I would have increased incidents of blackheads and breakouts.
Makeup tends to clog up pores.

There are facial scrubs that will clean out the pores. Apricot Scrub is a good one.

You can give yourself a facial. Avon sells some different kinds of facials.

I used to use salt and soap then alcohol and cotton pads for cleansing. SALT has been used for thousands of years as a preservative for food It is a wonderful exfoliant and skin softener. For black heads you need to steam your face. Then use cotton to remove your black heads. Do not use make up for some time as it tends to clog pores more. Just apply an alcohol free toner after you wash your face. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

From Biore? I don't think you should, they're pretty harsh on the skin and you might hurt yourself.

Biore's pore packs never work on me either, the pores only get bigger and the blackheads more noticeable :( I'm using Biotherm's biopur wash now, they're pretty effective on blackheads.

Tried to get rid of a blackhead on my boyfriend's cheek and a hard red lump/ bump appeared after squeezing...?

Can someone tell me what this lump is? It formed right after trying to get this blackhead out (which is still there btw). Did the squeezing cause a cyst? Is it serious? He said it stings... has this happened to anyone before? Can someone give me some more info on what may have happened?Tried to get rid of a blackhead on my boyfriend's cheek and a hard red lump/ bump appeared after squeezing...?
That happens to me sometimes. Its just swelling from causing trauma to the skin. It should go down in about an hour or two, if its not gone by tonight, then I would worry a little more about it.Tried to get rid of a blackhead on my boyfriend's cheek and a hard red lump/ bump appeared after squeezing...?
I would say that it probably is the blackhead still being there. Ask him if he can remove it himself. The blackhead may just be inflamed and it may need to come out ASAP. See if he can and if he can't then try to use tweezers to squeeze the area so that it pops. If it does pop and if it does not heal and if he says it still hurts then go to a doctor. But I would highly recommend getting the blackhead out of his skin.

Neutrogena Wave or Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser?

I have been wanting to get the wave for a while now, but recently i saw the ad for the clean and clear eraser.

i know that the clean and clear eraser is focused mainly on blackheads (which is good since i have a few), but does it really work?

And does it also make your face smooth and remove makeup effectively?

So, which one do you think works best overall?

--Thanks in advance :]Neutrogena Wave or Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser?
well the blackhead eraser cleaning pads fit on the wave, %26amp;%26amp; they have better cleaning stuff in them. the wave is just soap. the blackhead eraser helps clear your face. my sister uses the wave with the blackhead eraser pads. she has a lot of acne, %26amp;%26amp; honestly i have barely seen a difference. there is a slight difference. i suggest clean %26amp;%26amp; clear.s acne advantage system. in one day, you can make a zit disappear. i swear by it. i love it, it doesn.t dry out my face, %26amp;%26amp; the facewash is slightly tingly, but i love it. if you need a zit gone fast, get the clean %26amp;%26amp; clear advantage kit. twenty bucks, well worth it.Neutrogena Wave or Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser?
I don't know about the blackhead eraser, but the wave works really well. My face is really rough and the wave made it a lot smoother. I also have a scrub face wash and if I put some of that on the wave it's a really good scrub. I like it. It's just a little expensive. The pads cost a lot to replace too.
my friend has the neutrogena wave and it does not work good at all.....on the commercial bubbles come out of the top from those little pads right, but when she got it and tried it no bubbles what so ever came out..... so i dont think it works that great i would try the clean and clear blackhead eraser
the wave made me break out the first time i used it bad! i don't know about the black head eraser tho

savlon cream is great for spots you can get it at any chemist over the counterBLACKHEAD CITY - wants to be demolished, help needed!?
you need to extract them, if they are on your nose push the tip of your nose upward.Put tissue on your finger tips so you dont scar yourself, when you are done wash your face with anti-bacterial soap, then scrub your face with a grainy scrub and get a moisterizer that is oil free.
biore strips i used them and they take the black heads right out of your skin! you can get them at any drug store or wal mart.
This is what I do. It's like a knockoff of that really famous face crap.

First of all, I use ex foliating soap on my face.

(Warm water!)Scrub the blackheads away for at least 2 minutes. 1 if your skin is sensitive. Afterwards PAT your face dry. NEVER RUB!!!

Once your face is dry, use a cotton ball with a bit of alcohol on it to sanitize your face, in a way of speaking. It WILL burn a bit.

After the alcohol based whatever dries, use a non oil based lotion. Don't cake it on. Put just enough to moisturize.

The ex foliating soap opens your pores and cleans your face.

The alcohol, or alcohol based whatever you use will sanitize your face, and help to dry out and kill off the zits.

The lotion will re - moisturize your skin. If you don't use it, your body will use natural defenses. Which can lead to over moisturization. Aka - more zits and blackheads.

Just do this everyday for the first week. Every other day the rest of the time. Trust me, it works like a charm. It will take at least 1 - 2 weeks to really show results.
Try visiting a sauna, sweating clears out the pores and will prevent blackheads, you could try one of those facial steamers.

yea it says acne but they have stuff for blackheads too!
My son had a real problem with these as well. We tried everything even a teen facial at the local salon, nothing worked. A neighbor sells Avon and gave me a sample of their Clearskin acne treatment pads and within 2 weeks of using them 2x a day , they are all gone. They have salicylic acid in them so maybe try a product with that in it. Good luck!
    exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate.

If you take two q-tips and apply pressure to both sides of the city, they will come out. Be sure to do this out of a hot shower, so your skin is moist and your pores are open.

Also, those Biore clear pore strips work on lifting some of them.
Try a mask or a peel or a deep cleanser. Beauty supply stores have a tool u can use its about 5-10 bucks.
Blackheads are a build up of soap in the pores, stop using soap on your face and they will vanish.
Haven't you tried Biore facial strips? Also a healthy diet.
Steam your face, use very hot water in sink and put a towel over your head for 10 mins and very gently squeeze blackheads after. Then use a toner to seal the pores shut again.

Any drug store blackhead clearing product that anyone swears by???

i've tried them all, clean and clear, st. ives, biore, etc. i REALLY need something that actually works to get rid of awful blackheads that won't stay away. it has to be cheap too, expensive products are completely out of the question. is there anything that really works that's worth giving a try??Any drug store blackhead clearing product that anyone swears by???
I use st. Ives apricot scrub. I don't get blackheads anymore.Any drug store blackhead clearing product that anyone swears by???
    Clorox.
The Neurogena line of products is good, because they contain salicilic acid.

Blackheads are not dirt: they麓re open comedones, which means grease and other components trapped in a follicle. So don麓t over-exfoliate or you麓re activating even more your oil production! Exfoliate 2 times a week, clenase every morning and evening, and apply a moisturizer preferrably in the form of gel. You should be seeing some improvement in about a week to 10 days. Good luck.
a combination of Biore toner, Biore face wash and Oxy acne gel
Try this remedy. Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. • Oil and blackhead on my face?

I'm 13 and my skin is a bit sensitive. I have a lot of blackheads and my face is very oily. What should I buy? I was thinking maybe I should buy Clean %26amp; Clear Blackhead Clearing Daily Scrub. Is there anything better I should buy?Oil and blackhead on my face?
i buy a lot of the clean and clear products like the invisible blemish treatment and cleansing wash there all good:)Oil and blackhead on my face?
Make sure you maintain a healthy beauty routine. Wash your face twice a day. Make sure to use a toner after washing your face with regular soap. This gets rid of any dirt or excess oil or dirt in your pores. As well, cleanse your skin every three days. After washing your face, moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer.

Try not to touch your face during the day. This collects dirt in oil, causing pimples. If you wear makeup, make sure to remove it at the end of the day in order to prevent it from clogging the skin. As well, try to maintain a healthy diet, full of bright fruits and vegetables.
    Yes, your option is good.

As you are only 13 what I recommend that before you scrub your face please mix the face scrub with a face cleanser. This is to prevent your skin from getting a shock as your skin is still young.

It seems you have an oily skin, importantly ... not to use oil base - scrub, cleanser or cream moisturiser.

Do not buy product that are meant for matured skin, always start from the mild and as you grew older than you go a next step further.

Read the instruction on the product and ask questions if unsure.

    Steps on proper cleansing

    1) wet your face and starts scrubbing.

    2) do not forget the chin and neck

    3) do not scrub the eye area

    ( use face cleanser )

    4) towel dry face

    5) apply moisturiser

    6) to do every morning and at night

I always do this without fail.

Now I am 43 yrs old and my face is a smooth as a baby's bottom ...lol...

    Best of luck!
Try biore warming blackhead fighting cream wash. Or clean and clear face wash as you mentioned. Also once or twice a week soak a small towel into warm water an gently scrub your face. Once your done dont wipe your face with an dry towel.

Use the same small towel make sure you wash it before you apply it on your face, hence leave da skin bit wet.

As your skin is very sensitive id recommend you boots cucumber cream its very light and moisturizes well its also suitable for oily skin tone
Clean and Clear is NOT a good brand. They use cheap ingrediants that are bad for your skin that totally strip it of the natural oils. Try somewhere like clinique. They will give you a skin analysis and will tell you your exact skin type and condition and wil recommend a range of products for you :)
wash your face twice a day with like dove or something

NEVER use soap, that dries out your skin.

i had the same problem as you did %26amp;i had so many blackheads

what i did was steamed my face, then used lemon juice which

kills all the dirt in your skin %26amp;then i rinsed with ht water again %26amp;then put a cream on my face

i did this for like 2 weeks %26amp;my skin cleared up !
Hi, I have really oily skin, and I've been trying this new regimen, and you should try it also!

Aspirin mask every 3 days: two uncoated tablets with some honey and put it on your face for no more than 10 minutes.

Wash your face with ONLY water. I cannot emphasize enough. ONLY.

Apply witch hazel with a cotton round.

THAT'S IT! And now my skin is so much better. Plus, it's cheap and you are not putting harsh chemicals on your young skin. :) Please try this.
Try washing your face twice daily, also if you beat egg whites and put them on your face and leve on for 10 min. then wash off that helps too.
    WASH YOUR FACE

    Deep blackhead removal?

I have tried a lot things (oatmeal, honey, scotch tape, duct tape, clean and clear blackhead eraser etc.) I really want to get rid of all of it fast! I have deep ones on my nose, on the corner of my nose, between my eyes, my chin, and under my eyes parallel with my nose. (basically the T-zone) I also have sensitive skin so does anybody have any ideas how to get rid of them?? I can't really buy anything right now either so home remedies please. Thanks!Deep blackhead removal?
You can try snail creams. They are perfect for acne and blackhead problems. If I were you I'd ordered a free sample to test if it works in your skin. Use a facial tonic after a wash facial cleanser every night, your pores will be closed faster than you think. With closed pores you can say goodbye to your blackheads.

I don't know what your blackhead question was, but generally the soap you wash your body with isn't necessarily the best for your face. They have facial cleansers that are designed especially to help with blackheads if that's your main problem. They are usually located in the skin care aisle of the store, which is close to cosmetics. Biore makes a blackhead cleanser. For the ppl that answered my blackhead question?
    Hi!

I actually found a facial oil that slows down your skins oil production, clears up pimples/ acne and dissolves black heads within 4-8 weeks I put all the info on my blog as it's quite detailed:

    http://beautymoi.blogspot.com

I also put a full article of how to extract blackheads and steam your skin.

Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.

I put where to the name of the oil and prices in stores versus on eBay as well as how to apply it on my blog:

    http://beautymoi.blogspot.com

Also be sure to check out all the links on my blog as they have lots of info!!!

For acne you may want to Google Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu.

    Take care and good luck!

Which is better, clean and clear blackhead scrub or the neutrogena one?

which is better c%26amp;c or neutrogena?

how long did i take to clear up? (c%26amp;c, neutrogena or both?)

did they all go away? (c%26amp;c, neutrogena or both?)Which is better, clean and clear blackhead scrub or the neutrogena one?
I tried both and the neutrogena one worked better. It didn't clear up all my blackheads but it started working in about a week.Which is better, clean and clear blackhead scrub or the neutrogena one?
The clean and clear one doesn't do much so for quick results I recommend using the Neutrogena ';Rapid Clear Black Head Eliminating daily scrub';. Use this once a day before or after cleansing and remember to tone and moisturize after wards. It's best to do this before bed as it can leave red blotches on your face if you have sensitive skin (however this is nothing to worry about and just needs moisturizer!) The Clean and Clear moisturizer works really well with this.

You should notice results as your black heads go away after about a week! I used it for about a month and it worked wonders, so good luck.
i prefer the neutrogena...i have tried clean and clear, but found the neutrogena to work the best...i swear by it and when im almost out of it, its an instant jump in the truck to hit up walmart lol.
i think neutrogena products generally work better, so i would recommend neutrogena..

  • I was picking at a blackhead now that area is all read how do i make it go down?

The blackhead didn't even come out, but i have a job interview tomorrow, so i'll prolly wear make up i want to do something about the redness.I was picking at a blackhead now that area is all read how do i make it go down?
    sounds the same -

    1) wash the area with soap and water

    2) antibiotic cream (Neosporin or store brand - we call it magic)

    3) quit pickin!

    GL on your interview

have a great 2008I was picking at a blackhead now that area is all read how do i make it go down?
This will hurt but just put alcohol on it..and then go to sleep with a little bit of toothpaste on it..it should work! Good luck!
You can try putting ice on the affected area to take the redness and swelling down. Don't irritate it even more, leave it alone because you need your face for tomorrow. I would advise against washing your face with very warm water since that could increase the redness. And lastly, the most important thing it needs is time.
Put some ice on it to reduce the swelling.
The redness should go away all on it's own over night. Next time don't pick at it. Squeeze it out.
stop touching it and it should go to the normal color by tomarrow, then just put make up on the black head if it bothers you
wash it once then dont touch no matter what use some visine eye drops to take out the redness and leave it alone ~ if you agitate the skin it will get worse~next time fight the urge to pick
    leave it alone.

you can get some over the counter cream if you want but the redness should go away on it's own before morning
Wash your face really good then don't wear make-up unless it is really bad because make-up clogs up your pores so much.
A warm compress may help. Good luck with the job.
this happened to me right before picture day. you need a hot wash cloth and rest that on it for about 20 mins it might still be red but it should be gone by morning. you could put some peroxide on after too!
well you get go to like walmart or something and they have nutrigena cover that is good for like skin blemishes but I'm not sure if it is at walmart maybe cvs maybe macys idk
    Put neosporin on it tonight.
just leave it be... don't pick at it... it will probably not be very noticeable tomorrow.
    visine or ice.
an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
go to the store and get some clearasil vanishing cream to apply over night. rub it with a que-tip. tomorrow morning, before putting your make up on, but after your shower. hold ice on the blackhead to make the swelling go down. (you'll still need cover up, but that should take out the hill)
Your not pinching it right! Use some needle nose pliers!
If it's blood, wash it with mild soap and water. Take an aspirin and apply a cold compress to where the blackhead was, and the swelling will go down. If it's still red in the morning apply some concealer and foundation that is lighter than your skin.
its read or red? stop picking at it. gross.
This sounds funny, but it really works.... Use Visine eye drops on it.

Ok wow...i saw some blackhead strips vids - and i cant believe thats on my nose?

i just saw a couple of vids with ppl removing 'blackheads' from their nose with these sticky strips.....

does everyone have blackheads??? how do you find out if you have blackheads or not :s :s

ps. i thought blackheads were the small little bumps people grow on their cheeks and foreheads that looks like small acneOk wow...i saw some blackhead strips vids - and i cant believe thats on my nose?
I think everyone has them, but some people's aren't visible. I used one of my sister's blackhead sticky strips and it looked like a little forest, even though I had no visible blackheads on my nose. Blackheads are little itty bitty black dots in your pores.Ok wow...i saw some blackhead strips vids - and i cant believe thats on my nose?
Many people get blackheads especially on their nose. But if you use Clean and Clear face wash it will get rid of them. Blackheads are a spots but they have got a tiny black dot. Here is a pic.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

How do i treat blackhead? iv tried clean and clear but as soon as i stop they return?

Cleanse the face thoroughly with a good cleanser meant for oily skin. Preferrably use a salicylic acid cleanser.

Apply an astringent like witch hazel. It helps reduce oiliness. If its a bit harsh mix a bit of rose water in it.

Apply a good quality medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. You can get creams or gels of Benzoyl Peroxide treating blackheads If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

Effective Tips to get rid of blackheads

鈥xfoliate the blackhead prone area 3-4 times a week using facial exfoliators and scrubs.

鈥se creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells and ';expose'; the blackhead. Use the AHA's every 3 days or so.

鈥void washing the face with soaps more than twice a day. Instead wash your face often with plain water splashes.

鈥ften use a mask with a clay base.

If blackheads look ready to pop out, you could try removing them gently by using a blackhead extractor. Also, Pore cleanser strips (blackhead extractor) for removal of blackheads are highly recommended for the treatment/removal of blackheads. Using them once per week will leave your pores cleaner and smaller.

Steam your face to soften both the skin and the material blocking the pores.

=)How do i treat blackhead? iv tried clean and clear but as soon as i stop they return?
You likely need something to loosen up the pores.

A dermatologist would likely prescribe Retin-A (retinoic acid) for it. An over-the-counter less-strong version of purified Vitamin A is retinol (not ';pro retinol,'; but retinol). Look for products with that. Neutrogena makes an deep-wrinkle serum with retinol that seems to keep pores unclogged ($15, about). Can be used in conjunction with a benzoyl peroxide gel ($2 generic), which would attack the bacteria.

Still won't be as effective as seeing a dermatologist, however. How do i treat blackhead? iv tried clean and clear but as soon as i stop they return?
black heads are dirt and oils trapped in the pores. I like to first clean my face, then I exfoliate with a scrub, then steam my face over a pot of boiling water (with a towel over my head). Then I normally put on a peeling mask afterwards. This helps draw out the trapped oils when the mask dries and tightens.

I do this about twice a week. Besides that I clean my face 3 times a day, and I carry a little booklet of oil absorbing sheets with me to use throughout the day, to keep the unwanted oil off.
I have used Proactive, and I've never seen anything work better because I used to have an acne problem, too. It may not work for everyone, but most of the people I know who used it have had great luck!
You really should never touch your face, also you should try to wash your face at least 2x a day.
ProActiv works but I wouldn't use it forever as for some it seems to lose affect. I use it for two weeks when I need to twice a day then I go back to using things that are non-comgenic (sp). Mary Kay cleanser twice a day works for me and some of the Oil of Olay cleansers, then followed with a light astringent, but I've have bad luck with Clean and Clear and Nutrigena.
Try the Clean %26amp; Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent. It dissolves plastic bags and gets rid of blackheads over night.
you have to use it consistantly even when you dont have acne wash will help keep it away
Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. Check out http://useinfo-blackhead.blogspot.com/ for more useful tips to control blackheads.

I have a bad blackhead problem?

i have been getting a lot of blackheads all over my nose! it use to be just a couple but now there are a hell of a lot all over my nose and they just wont go away! Are there any tips that you can give me on how to prevent blackheads or make them go away? Thanks for advice!I have a bad blackhead problem?
Ok, here's a very affordable way to solve this problem. Use rubbing alcohol no higher than 50% solution, 50% purified water. Use a soft facial cloth / tissue to gently apply a small amount of the solution to your face. Stay away from the eye area. I also had big pores but this incredibly reduced them!!!!!!!

Next drink 12 to 16 oz of WATER to help hydrate your skin. This is important to avoid dry skin caused by the Rubbing alcohol. Do this 2 x day most importantly once before bed and I recommened 12 hrs later. My Blackheads were gone in a couple days and now I just use the solution at night. It's less than a $1.00 a year if applied once a day.

    Apple Cider Oily Skin Wash

For this easy wash simply mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of distilled water. Apply the wash to your face with a cotton ball, and avoid the eye area. Rinse with tepid water, and pat dry. This wash is a very effective remover of dirt and oil on the face, leaving your pores feeling more open and fresh.

vinegar can clarify the skin by rinsing away and removing the oils and dirt buildup that mimic blockages in your system by being blockages in your pores, making it impossible for your skin to breathe.
I personally recommend Bior茅 pore strips. They have face and nose strips, and they WORK! The strips are sticky, and when they come in contact with water, the stickiness is like glue. Then it pulls off the blackheads in minutes, even visible results too.
have you tried biore strips? They are temporary but they work wonders!
Biore nose and face strips, they suck the blackheads right off. They work soooo well
clean and clear has this little vibrating cleanser called the blackhead eraser or something similar to that, you should try using it. it works reaallyy well you can see a difference right after using it

    What exactly is a blackhead?

becuase i have a friend who has a build up of them around her/his nose.

What causes this? What exactly is a blackhead?
A build up of muck in the pores of the skin. Those blackhead removal strips are really good for getting rid of them. It's not a sign of poor hygiene, just something most of us have to go through as a teenager. What exactly is a blackhead?
a blackheads is a yellowish or blackish bump or plug on the skin. It is caused by excess oils that have accumulated in the skin's pores. Blackheads are typically caused by excessive oil and makeup.

*Common myths state that masturbation causes acne and, that celibacy or sexual intercourse can cure it. Though it has been widely accepted that these are not true due to lack of scientific study on the subject, it is also important to note sexual activity has been observed to result in hormonal spikes, which has been linked to acne

haha just thought you'd like to know that xD
    Blocked pores.
    I'm with pepsi bandit
A blackhead is a pore that's full of dirt. It's sorta gross if you think about it. There are products that are designed to clear your pores and make them smaller so dirt can't get it, but I don't know how well things like that work.
    some one with black hair
dirt in pores from not washing and scrubbing good and often. Thay have clean and clear blackhead remover pads that harden on your nose that you peel off and it rips um out
I think they may be blocked pores
Blackheads are pores that get clogged with dirt.

To prevent or get rid of them, you need to wash your face twice a day, or when it is oily. In the store they have scrubs made for if you have blackheads.

They are not hard to get rid of if you take care of your face.
It is basically big skin pores that fill with dirt.
They are blocked pores in the skin, like any other sort of spot, but with dirt trapped in them ... the black bit! A good facial exfoliant used regularly should cure the problem.
trapped oil and they're very hard to get out. They're much worser than spots because they dont hurt when you squeeze they are like embeded in your face. So basically its caused by trapped dirty oil. Usually get around your ears, and nose.
A blackhead is a type of pimple that forms when the pores of the skin get clogged with oils and impurities.

Which to use: blackhead eraser (clean and clear) vs. the wave (neutrogena)?

I need some help! I'm not sure whether to buy the Blackhead Eraser by Clean n Clear or the Wave from neutrogena. I have blackheads, but i also sometimes break out...so i know you are going to say Blackhead Eraser but does it only work for blackheads?? Because i need to know whether to use Blackhead eraser by itself, blackhead eraser with another product, or the wave by itself. THANKS :DWhich to use: blackhead eraser (clean and clear) vs. the wave (neutrogena)?
I actually bought the Wave, and I didn't like it - I was breaking out more than before I started using it. However...then I saw the ad for the blackhead remover, and I thought that the pads were exactly the same thing, except...different formula. They were. The clean and clear pads fit right on my neutrogena wave, and I didn't have to buy the actual blackhead eraser product...

So basically, just buy either the eraser or the wave, and then just buy the pads for both, if you'd like to see which one you like better.Which to use: blackhead eraser (clean and clear) vs. the wave (neutrogena)?
    BLACKHEAD ERASER

the neutrogena wave dries out your skin SO much

    my friend has it

and she said when she washed her face like two weeks after she started using it

she could see all the dead skin on her hands..

    but yeah

    blackhead eraser :)

    i use it

    and it works

    ALSO

if you get OXY and dab the pad on your blackheads it makes them go away

    its burns! i warn you.

    but works
blackhead eraser is so much better, i always get allergic to neutrogena which leaves me looking worse than when i started

blackhead eraser and a decent perfume free cleanser works for me, its not just blackheads and it reduces breakouts severity when you use it regularly and helps sooth them
    the wave absolutly suckss haha.

  • I have a blackhead issue, need help?

Ok, I have lots of blackheads. I know they are kinda gross, but whatever. I have them on my upper lip, and on my nose mostly. And I have ones in other places (On my facee!) that I can't get out.

    Help? It's really annoying!

And I already use Clearasil Advantage for my pimples which are already under control.

Thanxx! :DI have a blackhead issue, need help?
Ugh I hate blackheads too! What works for me is, I steam my face with a home face spa for 30 minutes. Then immediatly after that I use a scrub and pay a lot of attention to the infected blackhead areas. This helps a lot, and if it doesnt get most of your blackheads out; try doing it for a few days. Also, after you steam your face I find taking two q-tips and gently squeezing the blackheads on your nose helps too. If it works, you will see a substance come out of your pores.

Do the biore blackhead strips hurt?

I'm thinking of using them, and wondering if they're painful? Or just a little, or what? And approximately how much do they cost? Thanks! :)Do the biore blackhead strips hurt?
I think they run about $6-9 depending where you go (online, cvs, grocery stores) for a box of 12.

They don't hurt much. It feels like taking off a band aid. I actually use elmer's glue. I put a thin layer on my nose, wait for it to dry and I peel it off. It more stuff than the strips. I like the peeling part, I find it fun. And for the price, and the large amount, a bottle of the glue lasts me a year.

Try to use it twice a week, with 3 days intervals. :)Do the biore blackhead strips hurt?
    no,they don't. :)
they hurt a little tiny bit at first but then its all fine after.they cost about 11.00 or so .It depends.
I used on once. They don't hurt at all
they don't really hurt much, about like pulling off a band-aid. I've never had much luck with them though. I use clean and clear blackhead clearing scrub and that seems to work the best for me. good luck!

Whats the best home remedy for blackhead removal that doesn't scar?

i have a cousin who really needs a good answerWhats the best home remedy for blackhead removal that doesn't scar?
There's a face masque by St. Helen -- the Mint Julep one -- that works very well.

Also, remind her to drink lots of water, and make sure she's getting enough antioxidants -- Vitmains A,C, and E -- in her diet, and not just in her vitamin.

Tell her to make sure that all of her makeup says ';anti-comeodogenic'; Which means that it won't clog your pores.

Also, tell her that she should try to not wear makeup, make her pillowcase as clean as possible, moisturize, and not to use harsh chemicals. Tell her to consider just washing her face with olive oil soap - as it won't be too harsh on her face.

Use Steam, but carefully. Sometimes opening up your pores just spreads the bacteria around.Whats the best home remedy for blackhead removal that doesn't scar?
steam. like in a sauna or the like. it worked for me
A little hot water on a towel and gently scrub them away. Be careful, because if you scrub to hard it can leave a nasty bruse. But other then that it really works, my cousin does that.
Take a wash cloth and and hot water to your handling. Wash your face with Dove soap. Then wipe off with hot wash cloth and then pat your face with rag to open your pores.Take a bowl and put ice in and a little vodka and scoop it in your hand and pat all over your face. Then wash off with cold water pat face dry with clean towel.do this for at least three days.(Hot to open your pores to clean and clear and cold to close to leave clean and dry.
They make a blackhead remover that's a little metal tool with one hole in either end of it. You place it over the black head and press and the black head comes out. The idea is if you apply even pressure on all sides, the oil deposit comes out. Hope that helps.

Why EveryTime U Pop A Blackhead Or A Bump On Your Face, It Has A Foul Smell?

It's because of all the dirts and oils that are in your skin. Why EveryTime U Pop A Blackhead Or A Bump On Your Face, It Has A Foul Smell?
Usually foul smells are either associated with filth or infection or rot. I'm assuming your face isn't gangrenous or falling off.. and I'm assuming that it's not possible to shove enough filth into your pores that you could actually smell whatever you express from them.. So I'm guessing that maybe you have a problem with infection in your pimples. More than the normal. I'd suggest seeing a dermatologist. If your acne has problems like that you might need a prescription or a medicated face scrub to get rid of it.Why EveryTime U Pop A Blackhead Or A Bump On Your Face, It Has A Foul Smell?
I think you need to see a doctor hunnie I have never had a foul odor come off my face after popping a black head.
